It feels like just weeks ago that the media went into a frenzy over the news that Peter Andre and his girlfriend, medical student Emily MacDonagh announced their pregnancy. Now, they are proud new parents to a baby girl – whose name hasn't yet been revealed. In his most recent Now! Magazine column, Peter commented on becoming a father again and how he was back to work sooner than they originally thought. "Originally, my plan was to work all of January and have February off, but now the baby's here I want to space out my days off so I've got more time at home," Peter commented in an interview with The Mirror. "As you might expect, I'm not getting much sleep at the moment, but oddly, I'm not knackered." Whilst this is fantastic news for Peter, and assumedly Emily, the post-birth honeymoon period might be over before too long. Managing your sleep around a baby's sleep, eat, repeat schedule is never going to be easy, but the NHS does give some tips that can help Peter and Emily in the coming months. Firstly, sleep when your baby sleeps – there will always be other jobs to do, but sleep deprivation won't do you or your child any favours in the long term. You can also keep night and day separate even when they are dozing – this will help you with bedtimes when they're older. You can begin cultivating a bedtime routine involving bathing, pyjamas and reading a book now – it offers great one-to-one time with your baby. Setting routines now (even if it feels too early) equates to more sleep for you in the long run – if your child is a healthy sleeper, you get to be a well-rested parent.
