How does a memory foam mattress work?

Memory foam mattresses have, as the name suggests, a layer of memory foam on top instead of springs. What is the difference between gel and memory foam mattresses?

Gel cool memory foam mattresses are infused with tiny gel beads which cannot be found in traditional memory foam mattresses. The beads bond with the foam, helping airflow and cooling the mattress down. Gel memory foam mattresses also provide more support, ideal if you're looking for a slightly firmer mattress.

Is polyurethane foam the same as memory foam?

While memory foam contains polyurethane, regular polyurethane foam cannot be classed as memory foam. The memory foam available at Time4Sleep is also known as viscoelastic polyurethane foam, and contains a blend of polyurethane and additional compounds.
