TREE AID's mission is simply to alleviate poverty sustainably, while improving the environment.   Their major focus has been on supporting 164 Village Tree Enterprise groups in identifying products with which they can develop viable businesses. Working with the Food and Agricultural Organisation, TREE AID has helped villagers to produce business plans and to learn to build and run a business so they can be self reliant. They work in some of the poorest African countries including Burkina Faso, Mali and Ghana where around 90 percent of the population rely on trees for their basic survival.   Eco-Furn gives 10% of their profit each year to TREE AID, along with other donations made through fund raising events throughout the year.
