Andy Murray stays awake in case Wimbledon win was a dream

Since becoming Britain’s first male Wimbledon champion in 77 years, Andy Murray has had little sleep, the Telegraph reports. Looking exhausted as he gave a series of interviews on Monday, he admitted that after the game he had celebrated until 3am, and had not wanted to go to sleep “in case we woke up and it didn’t actually happen”.
When an interviewer asked on Monday why he was not having a lie in, Murray joked that he “would much rather be doing that than be here”. In spite of his success it doesn’t look like Murray will be having lie ins any time soon, with the tennis star saying that he will be back to work in a few days.

Murray at least managed to have a pleasant start on Monday, telling interviewers that he “sat having breakfast with the trophy downstairs”. Although the champion will not get to keep the actual trophy, he will be given a replica to take home.
