Looking ahead in 2017 we predict what new home interior trends will be emerging, and how you can get ahead of the curve. From dark, mossy greens to vibrant oranges and shimmering metallics, there’s a wide range of colours and styles that will be hitting our shelves next year. We’ve spoken to several home interior experts to provide expert tips on how to incorporate these new trends into your home: Colour blocking with fabrics rather than paint David Roebuck, managing director at online blinds retailer Direct Blinds, who believes that 2017 will be about experimenting with different block colours, says: “Bold, daring colours are back for 2017, with warming orange, sunshine yellows and bright blues looking set to dominate both the catwalks and our home interior products. Whilst grey will always be popular, those that aren’t afraid to be vibrant should opt for a bold blind colour, to make a real focal point in a room. Plus, roller blinds are easy to maintain and are easily changed to fit in line with current trends.” Palette_Kingfisher Turmeric Living Room Roller                         Mix up your living room with different coloured roller blind fabrics and matching cushions. Plain roller blinds are low cost but the combination of colours make a stylish impact to any room in the house. We’ve moved away from the softer, more muted tones to a radiant, stronger gold that brings richness to the home. “In terms of accessories, don’t be afraid to combine a number of textures too. On trend texture combinations include glass and metallic vases, candlesticks that blend wood with a painted finish and chopping boards crafted from weathered wood and marble.” Redrow home interior                         Redrow Homes: ‘Gold rush’ – The Highgrove, Ryarsh Park, South East Add depth and texture to any room with luxurious grey fabrics Kevin Royal, Managing Director at ScS, provides his trend predictions for 2017: "We're already seeing a large shift towards fabric sofas rather than leather and we expect to see this continue next year with grey being the most popular colour. "Although grey has been a well-loved interior trend for a while now, we are expecting to see customers opting for products with varying grey tones, to add depth and texture to their living spaces. "In both sofas and flooring, chevron print is the new stripe, with customers likely to opt for the zig zag pattern over straight lines, to give their home a more fashionable, funky look. scs carpet

He says: “While wooden and metal beds will still be popular, we are expecting to see a shift towards upholstered beds as homeowners set out to create a softer look. Deep buttoned headboards and soft grey fabrics, in velvet and velour will be popular, in a variety of styles. Choose an upholstered sleigh bed for a different twist on this trend, or for something more practical choose a storage bed to keep any mess at bay.” Oxford Sleigh                         The brand new Oxford Sleigh bed is the latest addition to Time4Sleep’s extensive range of beds.
