The true cost of staying in some of the world’s most luxury hotel bedrooms

With travel on hold for us all at the moment, Instagram has become our main source of wanderlust and the perfect way for us to dream about all the places we’d love to visit in the future. 

For many people, hotel bedrooms are one of the most exciting parts of the holiday. In fact, there are over 1.4 million uses of hashtags such as #hotelroom on Instagram, with people from across the globe sharing photos of impressive suites and luxurious beds. But what is the true cost of staying in some of the most sought-after hotel bedrooms?

To find out, we analysed Google search data from the world’s 100 most lavish hotels¹ to find the top 10, before taking to Instagram to find out just what you can expect when staying in some of the most luxurious bedrooms. 

We then calculated the true cost of staying in each of the bedrooms for just one night, and the price may come as a shock!

Hotel Bristol, a Luxury Collection Hotel, Warsaw

This iconic hotel in Warsaw, Poland is situated on the Royal Route, a short stroll from the Old Town. The grand interior certainly matches the impressive historic architecture and you’ll be sure to remember your stay, with one night costing on average £666².

Borgo Egnazia, Savelletri di Fasano, Italy

Italy is one of the most romantic destinations in the world, so it’s no wonder that it’s also home to one of our favourite luxury hotels. The Borgo Egnazia Hotel boasts stunning white interiors and idyllic traditional architecture, making it a dreamy couples’ getaway. A one night stay in one of these cosy bedrooms would cost on average £2,357 per night³.

Sol y Luna, Sacred Valley, Peru

If you’re looking for a luxurious night’s stay surrounded by stunning nature and wildlife, Sol y Luna in Peru, is the perfect place for your next adventure. The cosy bedrooms embrace nature and sustainable living to give you a real experience of Peru’s incredible culture. An overnight stay here will cost you on average £686⁴.

Turtle Island Resort, Fiji

Nested in Fiji’s Yasawa Islands, Turtle Island is a 500-acre private retreat offering the most authentic and picturesque experience to just 14 couples at a time. Each couple is given their very own private beach, dedicated concierge and beautifully romantic suite with breathtaking views. We weren’t able to find out specific costs for a night in these romantic bedrooms but according to Kayak.com the cheapest rate for an overnight stay at the island is around £1,214⁵.

Post Ranch Inn, Big Sur, California

Surrounded by incredible views as far as the eye can see and offering cosy, luxury interiors that will help you to reconnect with yourself and with nature, is California’s Post Ranch Inn. It’s the perfect place to escape to and a one night stay in this remote bedroom will cost you on average £1,589⁶.

Rosewood Mayakoba, Playa del Carmen, Mexico

This incredible luxury resort can be found on the Riviera Maya near to the village of Playa del Carmen, Mexico. It’s a true jungle escape with indulgent accommodation that includes private terraces, spacious rooms and sumptuous beds. An overnight stay at Rosewood Mayakoba will set you back on average £3,577⁷.

Six Sense Laamu, Olhuveli Island, Maldives

Fancy waking from your slumber looking out onto the great expanse of the Indian Ocean? We thought so! At the Six Senses Laamu resort in the Maldives you can stay in your very own villa on the water, with your own butler tending to your every need. Cosying-up in this bed is a real taste of paradise. However, it comes at a cost, with one night costing on average £2,748⁸.

Le Meurice, Paris

Offering luxury and comfort in the heart of Paris is the iconic hotel Le Meurice . Grand interiors await your arrival and you’ll be sure to enjoy an indulgent stay in with rooms boasting elaborate decor and opulent beds. You can expect to pay on average £2,427⁹ for a night in one of the hotel’s impressive bedrooms.

Lebua at State Tower, Bangkok

At the Lebua at State Tower you can expect skyscraper views and a breakfast in bed that’s fit for a king or queen. This five-star luxury hotel sits next to the Chao Phraya River in the heart of the vibrant city of Bangkok and those looking to stay can expect to pay on average £549¹⁰ per night.

Fogo Island Inn, Newfoundland, Canada

Situated at one of the four corners of the earth and next to the sea, Fogo Island Inn allows you to embrace your artistic side. The quaint, modest bedrooms are the perfect place to enjoy breathtaking surroundings and a one night stay will cost you on average £1,681¹¹.
