101139212Take a leaf out of the book of Swindon residents and get checking your double bed, children's beds and even your guest beds for bed bugs! The Swindon Advertiser reported this week that the town was suffering from 47 separate infestations of bed bugs across the town. Justin Holloway, managing director of local pest control company Prokill Thames West, told the newspaper: "Short of setting them on fire, it's going to take multiple attempts to get them under control", indicating that they were dedicated to fighting the cause. Bed bugs can be detected by their distinctive smell of over-ripe raspberries, insect bites on the body, or spots of blood on the bed. They can also be seen with the naked eye, though they are very small - adult bugs are up to 5mm long and 3mm wide. If you spot any of these clues call your local pest control immediately, as once you are infested bed bugs are tricky to get rid of by yourself!
