sb10064105s-001We all know it’s important to invest in sleep by buying a good quality bed, but £4 million seems a little steep for even the most special snooze. That’s the cost of what is thought to be the most expensive bed ever – the Baldacchino Supreme made by British designer Stuart Hughes in conjunction with Hebanon by Fratelli Basile Interiors of Nocera Superiore. The chestnut wood structure features ash and cherry wood carvings and is enhanced with 107kg of solid 24ct gold. It also comes with the added option to customise the headboard with diamonds or other precious stones. Even the fabric on the bed is of luxury standard with Italian silk used.sleepy The bed is so exclusive it is said only two will ever be made, with one already reported to have been sold to an Italian businessman.
