sleep on planeIt seems like millions of us are happy to get sleep by any means necessary, but would you believe it if someone told you that a skip or a coal mine may be their last-minute choice of a place to bed down? According to a new survey by Octaspring, it's surprisingly true. In the first survey of its kind, it was revealed that narcolepsy has a remarkable number of influences on where people choose their 40 winks. The Daily Express, reporting the figures, confirmed that among the locations for sleep were the top of a hay bale, an exam desk, a bank, a football match and on a bouncy castle. Looking at the napping abilities of 3,000 adults across the UK, the poll confirmed what may be the inevitable: that the most common place for people to sleep is on public transport. However, another popular destination for the Snoozetown express was the nightclub. Speaking to the newspaper, GP Ian Campbell said: "There are complex physiological changes that occur in the middle of the day and the concept of a siesta makes a lot of sense. During sleep the brain remains active, but it seems to be able to use sleep as an opportunity to 'tidy-up' our thought processes."
