78325508Winter is here and temperatures are set to plummet even further over the following weeks, meaning Brits suffering from sleep disorders may be more susceptible to infections, according to a leading GP. This is the opinion of general health specialist Dr Ellie Cannon, who argues that sufficient sleep each night in your single bed can considerably boost your immune system, helping you to beat off any nasty infections. A number of factors can contribute to the sleep disorders such as insomnia, such as the stress and strain of everyday life, and Dr Cannon explained that some of these factors can be tackled through a healthy diet and a decent amount of exercise each day. Lean meats and fish - among other proteins - are especially effective, she argued. She explained: "Exercise boosts your circulation and your immune system. That is a great two-fold motivation to keep up the exercise."
