Chris Moyles to give up sleep
Author: Jonathan Warren
DJs Chris Moyles and Comedy Dave are to give up sleep in aid of the Charity Comic Relief.
The BBC Radio 1 stars will give up precious time in bed in order to attempt to stay awake for more than 37 hours – a Comic Relief record set by former Radio 1 DJ Simon Mayo in 1999.
The sleep deprivation slog will start at 6.30am on Wednesday March 16th and the pair will earn a five-minute break for every hour they are on air thereafter. They will be able to choose to take this break each hour or save it up for a longer nap.
Chris Moyles told the BBC: "Of course I'm worried about what the lack of sleep will do to me, but the pain will be worth it if we can raise a fortune for Comic Relief."
