sb10062917ll-001While it was hardly a case of Goldilocks and the three bears in Carlisle this month, a woman still came home and managed to conclude that someone had been sleeping in her bed. It was reported by the News & Star this week that after questioning, 37-year-old John David Rigby would have to appear before a court accused of burglary with intent to steal after a high-profile incident on Lazonby Terrace, off London Road, in the Cumbrian city earlier in the month. However, it wasn't the allegation that he had broken into her flat that most shocked Linda Lane, 51 - it was that he may have chosen to spend the night, too. Rigby, of no fixed abode, pleaded not guilty to the charge at Carlisle Magistrates Court. Magistrates decided to adjourn the case until October 18th, when people expect the issue to move up to the high powers of Carlisle Crown Court. Until then, Rigby has been released on bail.
