Keeping on top of fashion whilst choosing a style that will last through the years can be a daunting task. At Time4Sleep, we understand the importance of making a home to be proud of. This is especially the case in a financial climate in which moving house is simply not an option for most people. The cheapest and easiest way to make your home feel new is to bring your interior design style up to date. In today’s blog post, we thought we would show you how to do just that, by sharing some of the bedroom design trends that we have seen so far in 2013. The rise of upholstered beds One of the fastest-growing trends we have noticed so far this year is in upholstered bed frames. In previous years leather and wooden bed frames were particularly popular, whereas this year there has been an explosion in sales of fabric and upholstered varieties. This is a great trend to try out if you’re looking to brighten up a dull room, as fabric beds give you the chance to experiment with colour and texture and there is a much greater choice available than with other bed frames. Ottoman Storage beds Four-drawer divan beds have always been popular, particularly with those looking to get some extra storage space and make the most out of a small room. The only issue with four-drawer divans is that a lot of potential space is lost within the framework which is why more people are now opting for gas-lift ottoman beds. An ottoman bed offers up to four times more storage space than a conventional divan, which is brilliant if you want to put some things away and make your bedroom seem larger. French Style beds Whilst French style is always in fashion, we have seen a particular trend for French themed bedrooms this year. French design perfectly embodies the mood that most people want to create in their bedroom – romantic, luxurious and calming – so it’s no surprise that the trend continues to be popular. The quickest way to give your bedroom a French look is with a French style bed. The great thing about this is that you can make as much of the trend as you want to, either by making the bed a statement piece in an otherwise understated room, or going all the way with a themed bedroom. Technology in the bedroom Bedroom trends 2013 Bedroom trends 2013 The amount of technology we use in our day-to-day lives has grown rapidly in the last few years, and as a result an increasing number of people opting for TV and tech-friendly beds. Whilst some might think that technology has no place in the bedroom, the rise of tech-friendly beds actually means that our gadgets are only on show when they are being used. So if you’re a film buff you can easily transform your bedroom from relaxing haven to cinema and back again with the push of a button. One of the latest advances in bed design is the sound bed which plays music from your iPhone or iPod through built in speakers mounted in the headboard.
