Bed bugs coming to a bed near you

The UK has seen a surge of bed bug infestations found in people’s homes, nearly 40 per cent up on last year.
Rentokil pest control published the figures after predictions of a ‘global pandemic’ last year, and their findings showed that more than half of cases were in homes, not just hotels and offices.
The infestation of these pesky mites has been explained by holiday-makers taking trips abroad who unwittingly bring the pests back into the country in suitcases and on clothes, and has led to numerous people checking their beds before they sleep.
“High levels of hygiene and deep cleaning, including washing bed linen at a minimum £60C, will help to keep numbers under control along with the use of DIY products”, Sawas Othon, Rentokil technical director has advised.
