New Beds

80619534While it may have passed many people by, March is National Bed Month - the Sleep Council's longest-standing awareness campaign. Created in 1990, the event runs throughout the month and is seen as the perfect time of year to remind Britons and their international cousins alike of the importance of better sleep and the role the best bed plays in this aim. Research driven by the organisation in preparation for the campaign in January surveyed 5,007 UK adults as a means of giving a good overview of British sleeping habits, specifically uncovering any factors that are known to impact upon sleep quality. The insight concluded that the majority of Britons (70 per cent) sleep for seven hours or less each night, and over a quarter (27 per cent) have poor-quality sleep on a "regular basis". Meanwhile, the number of Britons that have just five to six hours of rest each night had "risen dramatically" in three years, from 27 per cent in 2010 to over a third in 2013. With this in mind, it may be worth assessing your regime - and bed - this month!
