Sleep

89793492Exercise is one of the most important things to factor into your lifestyle if you're going to get the best night's sleep possible, if the results of the latest high-profile poll are to be believed. According to the results of National Sleep Foundation's 2013 Sleep in America survey, those who described themselves as keen exercisers told of their better sleep patterns, even though they sleep the same amount each night - an average of 6 hours and 51 minutes on weeknights. The findings stated that those who engage in vigorous, moderate or even light exercise are much more likely to say that they had a good night's sleep almost every night on work nights than those with much more sedentary lifestyles. Over three quarters of this social demographic also said their sleep quality was very good or fairly good over the last two weeks of the study when compared to just over one half of non-exercisers. Professor Max Hirshkowitz, the poll's chair, was 100 per cent behind the findings. He said: "If you are inactive, adding a ten-minute walk every day could improve your likelihood of a good night's sleep."
