101816370American smartphone users are so attached to using their apps, for many phones owners their mobiles are the first thing they reach for following slumber, according to a new report published by Swedish telecom equipment manufacturer Ericsson. The report shows that 35 per cent of all U.S. Android and iPhone users use a mobile app even before getting out of bed, with 24 per cent reaching for their phones to check their emails and 22 per cent using their phones to check their Facebook accounts from the comfort of their bed. With many people using alarms on their smartphones to wake themselves up, it would app-ear that time in bed and time using smartphones is becoming intertwined. As well as using phones to access apps such as Craigslist, individuals are increasingly starting to plan the rest of the day from the comfort of their beds by accessing on-phone calendars and schedules.
