The Golden Globes took place last week, and saw every big name in Hollywood walk the famed red carpet. Actors, musicians and film-makers alike donned their finery for all the world to see, and before we knew it, articles deciding who was best and worst dressed filled the web. The Internet as a whole is no stranger to poking fun at these celebrities who, despite all their stylists' best efforts, manage to walk the red carpet wearing something that can easily be turned into something of a joke. This time, the entirely enigmatic yet humble Jennifer Lawrence was the source of hilarity. Designed by Christian Dior, the dress Lawrence wore was a simple, strapless white affair with a floor-length, flowing skirt, broken up by two black straps – one around the waist, the other around her hips. Whilst few could pull this look off, Lawrence looked flawless with a contrasting black clutch and her newly acquired pixie-cut hair. Despite this, Lawrence's outfit has inspired a new meme – where people are replicating her Golden Globe's look with their duvets and black tape. The white duvets are wrapped around the body, and black sticky tape is fixed to keep the fabric in place – and however much Jennifer Lawrence is loved, the pictures are being seen as downright comical. It's not just humans that are taking to the new comedy trend either, as pet owners have donned their cats and dogs in Lawrence inspired outfits too. There has even been a comparison made between Jennifer Lawrence and Ariel, the Little Mermaid when she wears a sheet held together by rope, the Huffington Post reports. Whilst we're sure Lawrence is taking the photographs in good spirits (she doesn't ever seem to take herself too seriously) one thing is definite – we never imagined a day where duvets became a fashion icon!
