Research published in the journal Sleep shows that a web-based program has proved effective in helping parents and babies achieve good quality rest. A three week study of 264 mothers and their infants or toddlers by the Sleep Center at Children's Hospital in Philadelphia, found those who used an interactive database benefitted from improved sleep. The program logged sleeping habits of both mother and child in the first week and came up with recommendations based on the information, the mothers then followed for the remainder of the study.  The results were then compared against groups who had been pre-prescribed a routine, or who had no intervention with their existing habits. Mothers who followed the program reported fewer interruptions to their own and their child’s sleep and benefitted from better moods.
