144870634It's not often that you will see an Oscar-winning actress at a major art gallery unless they are attending a new, high-profile exhibit - yet one has become the work of art, and not for the first time in her glittering career. Tilda Swinton took on her latest role with gusto, though it may not have been quite as challenging as others; she spent eight hours in a bed in a glass box sleeping at the Museum of Modern Art in New York. The star, who recently appeared in the video for David Bowie's latest single The Stars (Are Out Tonight), surprised attendees to the world-famous gallery with an unannounced appearance in an art installation called "The Maybe" on Saturday March 23rd. The commitment is not her first, and certainly not her last. First taking centre-stage in the artwork in 1995 in London, the leading lady will go on to re-enact the one-person display six more times on different dates in different locations around the gallery before 2014. Back in 1995, her appearance drew 22,000 people to the Serpentine Gallery in the capital, as part of her collaboration with Turner Prize-nominated artist Cornelia Parker.
