57284930 A new mattress is one of the easiest ways to combat sleep deprivation, according to research published this month. The Better Sleep Council conducted the study in conjunction with the International Sleep Products Association (ISPA), and emphasised the importance of a good quality mattress. The results suggested that a mattress with a comfortable surface, without lumps and bumps, can aid sleep for those who struggle at bedtime. Explaining the findings, ISPA president Ryan Trainer said: “Of the 53 per cent who get seven to eight hours of sleep per night, 36 per cent do so on a mattress that's one to four years old. “Only nine per cent of Americans who own eight to ten-year-old mattresses get seven to eight hours sleep.”
