Many people have difficulty falling asleep on a Sunday, research from an online survey provider has discovered. The Toluna Omnibus study of over 3,000 American adults found that 39 per cent of participants claimed not to be able to sleep easily on Sunday nights, with a significantly lower percentage struggling to sleep on other nights of the week. As the study suggests, the increase in sleep issues on Sundays is most likely related to "transitioning to and anticipating the week ahead". This conclusion is supported by the fact that those with the highest incomes were reported to struggle the most with sleeping on a Sunday night, and that the apprehension of returning to a high-pressure job and the demands of the week can inhibit sleep.
