Research by Munch Bunch books found that over a third or mothers and fathers across the country rated the struggle to persuade their youngsters to hit the hay as the most stressful part of their day. In order to win over their children many adults are resorting to bribery with 17 per cent promising later bedtimes at the weekend and 28 per cent told they can watch TV for a little longer in order to appease uncooperative kids. The survey also found that on average it takes more than 20 minutes for parents to persuade their children to go to bed, however, one in 40 parents reported negotiations extending over an hour.
